His Excellency Omar Bin Sultan AlOlama – Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence
H.E. Omar bin Sultan AlOlama was appointed Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence in October 2017, the first Minister of this type worldwide. His responsibilities include enhancing government performance by investing in the latest technologies and tools of artificial intelligence and applying them in various sectors, including renewables.
H.E. AlOloma is currently the Managing Director of the World Government Summit in the Prime Minister’s Office at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future. H.E. has worked as the Deputy Director of the Future Department at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future.
H.E. AlOloma holds a Diploma in Project Management and Excellence from the American University of Sharjah and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the American University of Dubai.
His Excellency Dr. Thani Ahmed A Zeyoudi – Minister of Climate Change and Environment
H.E. Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi was appointed as the Minister of Climate Change and Environment in February 2016. H.E. Dr. Al Zeyoudi is also the UAE Permanent Representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), and was the Director of the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
H.E. Dr. Al Zeyoudi first began his career as a reservoir engineer at the Abu Dhabi Marine Oil Company and then moved to Masdar, where we worked on advancing renewable energy technologies and solutions. H.E. Dr. Al Zeyoudi played a major role in the UAE’s successful campaign in 2009 in host IRENA, the first international organisation dedicated to renewable energy.
In 2015, Dr. Al Zeyoudi was awarded the first Gulf Cooperation Council Prize for Excellence in recognition of his pioneering efforts in renewable energy. He is a member of several committees, including the Emirates Green Development Council, as well as Audit and Selection Committees of Zayed Future Energy Prize.
H.E. Dr. Al Zeyoudi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Tulsa University, an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology, MSc in Project Management from the British University in Dubai, and a PhD in Strategy, Programme & Project Management from SKEMA Business School in France, for which he received the Sheikh Rashid Award for Scientific Excellence for holders of doctorate degrees.
Faris Saaed – Chief Executive Officer, Diamond Developers
Mr. Faris Saeed is the Chief Executive Officer at Diamond Developers. He has been with the company from its inception in 2003. Diamond Developers was one of the first companies in Dubai to enter the freehold property and real estate development industry following the introduction of freehold property ownership in the emirate in 2002.
Diamond Developers are the organisation behind The Sustainable City, a development billed as the most sustainable housing development not only in the UAE, but anywhere in the Middle East. Its design and function embodies the true meaning of sustainable living by integrating the social, economic and environmental aspects of sustainability.
Prior to his position with Diamond Developers, Mr. Saeed was a partner at a Dubai based contracting company developing villa complexes in the city. Before moving to Dubai in 1995, Mr. Saeed was a partner in an engineering consultancy in the Middle East.
